We’ve been copping a bunch of new products lately which is helping us to beef up our blog with heaps of quality reviews and comparisons.
Two of my favorites from the past few months are the TopBond Novae and DaVinci IQ portable vaporizers. Although these devices are pretty similar in appearance, under the hood there’s a bunch of functional differences.
The TopBond Novae is durable, affordable, and more than qualified to serve all of your vaping requirements, but if you’re after something with a next-level flavor profile and amazing functionality, the DaVinci IQ is the vape for you.

Portable Vape Review: TopBond Novae vs DaVinci IQ
The first obvious difference between the two is the display. The IQ features a totally unique 51-point LED interface with a digital temp and battery display, while the Novae has a five-point analog interface like that of the X Vape FOG.
While digital displays have a bunch of advantages relative to analog vapes, if you’re just after something to keep you vaping on the go an analog display is more than sufficient.
In terms of mouthpieces, the DaVinci IQ comes with two alternate pieces to suit your vaping preference. The first, constructed from zirconia, is a flat-top mouthpiece similar to the PAX 3’s.
Both the Novae and the IQ comes equipped with extended zirconia mouthpieces that help to subtly cool the vapor down. Zirconia provides a remarkably pure and smooth vapor experience and is far stronger than glass.
The TopBond Novae features a top-loading fully ceramic baking chamber for dry herb and wax consumption. The waxy cart is an optional extra that allows you to take amazing low-temperature dabs.
Like the Novae, the DaVinci IQ also features a fully ceramic baking chamber with a protruding zirconia tamper on the back that helps to pack the herb and evenly vaporize your blend.
As the IQ’s chamber is bottom-loading, the vapor produced is cooler and of a higher quality than that of the Novae. The IQ’s vapor path is like seldom others I’ve come across. The flavor is just next level!
Full-spectrum digital temp control and incremental battery life are both features of the ultra-premium DaVinci IQ, with the temperature range falling between 120°C (250°F) and 220°C (430°F).
With the IQ you can adjust the temperature via the device’s buttons or the Bluetooth enabled smartphone app, which allows you to create your own temperature paths to suit your vaping style.
The TopBond Novae has five preset temperature settings that range from 180°C (356°F) to 220°C (428°F), meaning you can really get the most out of your herb blend.
Like all good premium portables, both the TopBond Novae and DaVinci IQ come equipped with 3500mAh batteries that can be removed and replaced at your discretion.
This is an awesome feature for active vapers that love to take their devices on the go. Simply purchase an additional battery, charge it up and take your blend with you on the go for days at a time!
The TopBond Novae is the newest member of the TopBond Technology family of portable vapes that also included the TopBond Torch and the TopBond Odin.
These devices are super durable and super affordable and are ideal entry-level devices for anyone looking to pick up herb vaping.
What the Novae lacks in functionality, it more than makes up for in vapor production. Its ceramic chamber generates huge clouds of sweet-tasting vapor with little residual chamber flavor.
You can fit up to 0.3 grams of dried herb into its narrow chamber, and with a normal session lasting up to 10 minutes, the device is pretty economical too!
This is the perfect device for the portable vaper in all of us! The Novae’s rugged exterior and extendable battery life make it the perfect vape for anyone that’s into getting outdoors!

The DaVinci IQ’s functionality is otherworldly. Aside from the removable full-zirconia storage chamber that sits between the mouthpiece and chamber for additional flavor, the IQ even comes with a herb storage tank for your keychain!
And if the inbuilt packing tool that’s concealed under the mouthpiece isn’t enough, the second keychain has a separate packing tool built into the side. This is the Swiss Army Knife of vaporizers!
If you’re a fan of the Storz & Bickel Crafty’s Bluetooth enabled smartphone app, the DaVinci app will blow you away. It allows you to perfectly craft your vapor experience to suit your personal vaping preference.
However, if you’re more of a manual vaping fan, the device’s three buttons allow you to control all of the settings from your fingertips without needing to grab your phone.
This device is one of my absolute favorites in terms of both flavor and functionality. You’ll really appreciate all of the innovative accessories, and the vapor produced is just next level. The amazingly sweet flavor sticks to your mouth long after the session.

If you’re a flavor fanatic like me you’ll appreciate the DaVinci IQ’s full ceramic/zirconia chamber. It’s got a vapor path like no other, and all of the bells and whistles you could ever need.
The TopBond Novae is far more affordable, however, you’re compromising on flavor a bit compared to the IQ. If you’re simply after a tough little portable to take out camping or on the boat, this is the device for you!
