Wolkenkraft FX Mini Vaporizer Review

We have been testing out the Wolkenkraft FX Mini convection vaporizer for the last few weeks. I was looking forward to trying the FX Mini out after completing our review on the Wolkenkraft FX+ vaporizer recently.

I enjoyed using the FX+, however, the FX Mini has full digital control and it is more portable.  Let’s see how good it is.

The First Impression of the Wolkenkraft FX Mini Vaporizer

The Wolkenkraft FX Mini is a true convection dry herb vaporizer. It comes nicely packaged, making the impression of a quality product.

The FX Mini is nice and small, only 81mm tall, 50mm wide and 27.3mm thick. As a result of the small size, it fits very easily into your hand and it is quite discreet.

As you look at the vaporizer, you can’t help noticing the glass mouthpiece. It is made out of thick glass and you can take it out for cleaning as you can see below.

The Wolkenkraft FX Mini makes a great first impression, let’s have a look at what you get in the kit.

What you’ll find in the Kit

You’ll find everything you need to get started and even some spare parts.

Here is a list of items:

  • 1 x Wolkenkraft FX Mini Vaporizer
  • 1 x USB Charging Cable
  • 1 x Packing Tool
  • 1 x Tweezers
  • 1 x Cleaning Brush
  • 1 x Quartz Tank (for oils and concentrates)
  • 1 x Replacement mouthpiece silicone piece with a stainless steel screen
  • 1 x Cleaning Wipe
  • 1 x Users Manual

How to Use the Wolkenkraft FX Mini Vaporizer

This little vaporizer has full digital control and it is as simple to use as it gets. As a first step, it is best to put it on the charger before the first use. Let it charge fully to make sure the battery is conditioned.

After you’ve charged the battery, you can proceed to pack the chamber.

Remove the block with the mouthpiece in it to expose the stainless steel baking chamber.

The chamber is easy to access and pack with ground herbs. Make a note not to pack it too tight so the air can flow through your herbs without too much resistance.

Put the mouthpiece back on the vaporizer and you are good to go.

Press the power button 5 times in a row to turn on the FX Mini. The digital display on the top of the vape will turn on and show the Wolkenkraft logo for a second or so.

When the screen comes on, set your desired temperature using the + and – buttons. You can set your temperature by the degree between 160 and 221 Celsius (320 to 430 Fahrenheit).

The light around the mouthpiece is a steady red color while the vaporizer is heating up. It turns blue once your set temperature is reached in about 25 seconds or so.

At this point, you are ready to vaporize.

The OLED display shows you the battery charge level, your temperature, and a count-down session timer. A session goes for 240 seconds (4 minutes) after which the FX Mini will shut down automatically. Simply press the power button 5 times again to turn it back on for another session as needed.

For best practice and longevity of your FX Mini, it is best to wait for 3 to 5 minutes between vaping sessions to avoid the battery overheat and deteriorate quicker.

UPDATE: Water pipe compatibility

I received a question if there is any glass bong adapter that would work with the FX Mini. The one that works for sure is the Dab Cap silicon adapter. The glass mouthpiece fits perfectly into the dab cap and you can draw vapor from most bongs with this setup. There might be other bong adapters that work, but this is what we have found so far.

Our Final Thoughts on the FX Mini

We really liked using the Wolkenkraft FX Mini and found it to be performing very well.

It is easy to use as well as to clean. I have been using it fairly regularly and find it to be very suitable for frequent use.

The 1600 mAh battery powers through about 6 or so sessions before you have to charge it. To add to the list, the FX Mini produces big clouds of great-tasting vapor.

I don’t have a lot of negative things to say about this vaporizer if any. Perhaps the only negative I came across is that the cleaning brush in the kit is dropping bristles and is not quite usable as a result. Other than that, we have been pretty impressed by this unit.

In my view, the Wolkenkraft FX Mini is definitely worth checking out if you are on the market for a portable convection vaporizer.

Chris

I have been vaporizing herbs for many years and working for VapeFuse in Australia and Europe. I try every vaporizer and fortunate enough to have this as part of my job. I feel like I am living the dream. I love to hear from other vapers, so always feel free to comment on my posts. Keep on vaping.

  1. Ho Chris,
For the past 2 years I’ve been using my beloved Flowermat V5.0 pro.
But now it is falling apart and I’m looking for a nice replacement.
Have you got any advice as I’m getting lost in the different brands and types.
I use it only for dry herbs.
I like to be able to clean it easily which not really was the case for the V5.0
I’d love a strong battery and would like to be able to set at least 3 different temperatures.
95% I use it at home. But like to take it with me when I go somewhere too.
Could you please recommend me a few?
I also like it when it burns all of the herbs equally which not always is the case with my current vaporizer.
And last but not least; I don’t like the dirty taste that it gets, are there any vaporizers who prevents them from the dirty taste?
Or is it always a matter of cleaning it.
The problem with the Fowermate is cleaning the mouthpiece.

    Thank you in advance!

    • Hello Eleonore,
I am sorry for the late reply, a lot of our comments were filtered and only realised yesterday, so I’ve been trying to get back to everyone for the last couple of days. Anyhow, this might be too late for you but might helps others in a similar situation.

The Flowermate v5.0 Pro is a good vape, uses a little too much herbs, but it is a good vape all around. If you liked that, you could perhaps consider other, newer Flowermate vapes, such as the Nano. The Flowermate Cross I didn’t quite like but the Nano is pretty good, could be a nice upgrade after the v5.0 Pro.

Other options include the Wolkencraft range, the FX Mini is actually pretty good, or any other brands of the same vaporizer, such as Quant.

I hope this helps and all the best with your next vape.
