Wolkenkraft Buddy Convection Vaporizer Review

We have been testing the Wolkenkraft Buddy herbal vaporizer for the last few weeks. The Buddy is another full convection vaporizer from Wolkenkraft. They produce a range of other full convection vaporizers, including the FX+, the FX Mini as well as the new Aris vape.

The Design of the Wolkenkraft Buddy Vaporizer

Just like all the other Wolkenkraft vaporizers we reviewed, the Buddy is presented very nicely in beautiful packaging.

Wolkenkraft Buddy Vaporizer Box

The vaporizer is quite small, only 118mm high, 50.5mm wide and 26mm deep. It has a slightly curved body with an OLED display on the top of the unit. The digital display is very simple, it displays the set and actual temperature while heating up. A few seconds into your session, the set temperature is replaced by a session timer to show you how much time is left in your current vaping cycle.

The Wolkenkraft Buddy is powered by a 2300 mAh battery and heats up in as quickly as 30 seconds.

The large herb chamber is made out of ceramic with a stainless steel bottom screen. The air path is fully isolated and there is a dial on the bottom of the vaporizer to adjust the airflow. Turning the little dial will noticeably change the amount of air you can draw through the chamber.

Just like all other Wolkenkraft vaporizers we tested so far, the Buddy comes with a glass mouthpiece as well. The glass mouthpiece is favored over plastic ones by many people in the VapeFuse community.

What’s in the Box?

Wolkenkraft Buddy Vaporizer Inclusions

In the box you’ll find the below items:

  • The Wolkenkraft Buddy Vaporizer
  • 1 x Micro USB Charging Cable
  • 1 x Stainless Steel Oil and Wax Cup
  • Replacement Screens
  • 1 x Cleaning Brush
  • 1 x Pair of Tweezers
  • 1 x Packing Tool
  • 1 x User Manual
  • Some Stickers and Information Cards

How to Use the Wolkenkraft Buddy Herbal Vaporizer

Using the Buddy vaporizer is very simple. It is best to charge the battery fully before you use the vaporizer for the first time.

Pull the glass mouthpiece outwards to expose the baking chamber. Pack your chamber with ground herbs, making sure you don’t compress them too hard. With convection vaporizers, it is best to lightly compress your herbs only, so hot air can travel through them easily.

Press the button 5 times in a sequence to turn the device on. The OLED display shows an open padlock to indicate that the vaporizer is turned on. Press and hold the button to toggle between the 8 pre-set temperature settings.

The preset temperatures are 160, 170, 180, 190, 200, 210, 220, and 230 Celsius.

You can change between these 8 temperature settings any time during your session by pressing and holding the button.

Conclusion

The Wolkenkraft Buddy is an easy to use full convection vaporizer that is best suited for a beginner who is tempted to try full convection herbal vaping. You get 8 preset temperatures in a great temperature range (160 to 230°C) that meets most vaping requirements.

You don’t get by degree temperature control, however, not everyone needs that. Overall the Wolkenkraft Buddy is a great little convection vaporizer and gets the job done.

Chris

I have been vaporizing herbs for many years and working for VapeFuse in Australia and Europe. I try every vaporizer and fortunate enough to have this as part of my job. I feel like I am living the dream. I love to hear from other vapers, so always feel free to comment on my posts. Keep on vaping.

    • Hello Chris, sorry for the late reply, the Dab Cap works with the FX Mini for sure, I’ve tried that, you have to hold it while taking a draw, but it works perfectly. You should be able to order it in Europe. Also, it might be worth looking around for similar silicone caps locally and see what you find. I hope this helps, all the best.
