The PUFFiT X portable vaporizer has one huge advantage that most people in our VapeFuse community use it for. It is the most discreet vaporizer you can get, that does the job.

The big distinctive advantage of the PUFFiT X is that you can easily get away with using it in public.

Not that we would want to encourage public vaporizing where it is not allowed, however, in some situations we all could do with some discretion.

It could be a concert, a festival, at a picnic for example. We all have those situations when discretion is the number one priority and the PUFFiT X is perfect for those occasions.

First Impression of the PUFFiT X Portable Vaporizer

The PUFFiT X is packaged very well and looks great out of the box. It is a low priced device made for occasional use, so there is obviously a lot of plastic used in its construction.

The vaporizer looks like an asthma inhaler, so plastic is kind of necessary to achieve that look.

The first time I saw a PUFFiT X I thought, wow, it does really look like an asthma puffer. It is surely one of the least attention-grabbing vaporizers that you can get and carry around.

Design of the PUFFiT X Vaporizer

The PUFFiT X is a forced fan portable vaporizer.

Its design is based on the asthma inhaler and it does look pretty much like that. Perhaps a little bigger, but looks like the same thing to me. Other than that, there is not much to it in terms of its look.

It comes in 3 colours, green, grey and purple.

It is lightweight and easily fits into your pocket or handbag.

The chamber is on the top of the device, right under the aluminum cap.

This means that the cap does get hot as you are progressing through your vaping session. It is best to use the supplied silicone cap, as the device is operated by pressing the aluminum cap. Not a major flaw in the design, however, it is worth mentioning.

Also, I don’t usually use the fan in open public spaces as it makes a high pitched squeaky noise, that would surely draw attention.

These are the major design flaws that I experienced, however, it is not a huge deal considering that this portable vaporizer was designed for ultimate discretion and occasional use.

How the PUFFiT X Portable Vaporizer Works

Temperature settings of the PUFFiT X Portable Vaporizer

It has 8 temperature settings, covering a range from 150 to 220 Celsius (300 to 430 Fahrenheit).

I usually use it on the maximum 220 Celsius (setting 8). The best I find is to pre-pack the vaporizer, so when you are out and about, you only have to press the top cap for a few seconds to start the heating process.
Once the light in the mouthpiece turns green, you can start vaporizing.

If you press the top cap at this point, it starts up the built-in fan. I don’t usually use the fan, though, as it is noisy and defeats the whole idea of discretion.

After about a minute and a half, the vaporizer will auto shut off. You’ll need to put the magnetic cap on and then take it off to restart the heating element.

This gives you the opportunity to vaporize extremely discreetly.

You may be able to use the fan at a concert or on a train when there is a steady background noise and the sound of the fan cannot be heard.

This is how simple it is to use this device when you are on the go.

Battery life of the PUFFiT X Portable Vaporizer

In my view, the battery life is perfect what I need it for. Using it out and about, often I may not even have the opportunity to refill the chamber, only use it for one or perhaps 2 or 3 sessions. As I mentioned before, I don’t use the fan often, so battery life has not been a problem for me.

The battery does charge up pretty quickly, though if you do run out of power. It charges up to 80% in one hour and that is more than enough to get you back to vaping again.

Vapor Quality of the PUFFiT X

The PUFFiT devices are not famous for thick vapor clouds. Always remember that these devices are designed for discretion first and foremost. They produce ‘light vapor’ that you may not prefer at the privacy of your home, but you might do in public.

The vapor quality is not that great, that is why you would only use this vaporizer when discretion is your number one priority.

The heating chamber is gold plated and the vapor path is stainless steel, however, the vapor does taste very plasticky. It usually goes away after use, however, I don’t use my PUFFiT X often enough for the plasticky taste to fully disappear.  

You can put up with such a vapor quality when you need to stay discreet and vaporize for medical purposes or for any other good reasons.

Cleaning and Maintaining the PUFFiT X Portable Vaporizer

You most likely won’t be using this device often enough, so you won’t have to clean frequently. I suggest brushing out the chamber after every use where possible, and that’s about it in terms of ongoing maintenance.  

There isn’t that much else you can do apart from cleaning the mouthpiece here and there.

Who is the PUFFiT X Portable Vaporizer for?

This unique portable vaporizer is really for everyone, who needs to vaporize in ‘public situations’. This could include a wide range of situations from music festivals to aged care facilities. We had caretakers of patients in aged care facilities purchasing PUFFiT devices, so the patients can vaporize discreetly.

Most situations you can think of when discretion is needed, the PUFFiT X will do the job.

This vaporizer is designed for such occasions when discretion is needed and not really made for frequent use.

You’ll see a lot of reviews online slamming the PUFFiT while missing the point that this is a vaporizer specifically designed for occasional use. It is surely not perfect and you would not want to use it as your everyday device.

Conclusion

The PUFFiT X is certainly the most discreet portable vaporizer and most people purchase it, so they have a device that they can take to concerts, picnics and use in public spaces without attracting any unwanted attention. It is perfect for such situations, however, discretion comes at a cost. The whole device is squeezed into a body shaped and designed to look like an asthma inhaler.
