How To Make Vape Juice: A Beginner’s Guide To DIY

If you don’t trust any of the vape juice producers, we have great news – you can make home-made vape juice. The whole thing can be frustrating or fun – it all depends on the understanding and approach.

With a bit of effort and preparation, you can go step by step and make vape juice at home. Not only can it be fun, but it will also save some money and ensure that you have only the desired ingredients in the liquid.

Even though it’s basic chemistry, you need to stay safe throughout the process. To start the whole thing properly, you will first need the right mixing tools and ingredients.

Get The Necessary Mixing Tools

Here are the essential mixing tools you need for the whole process:

Small-Cap Bottles

The best container options are small plastic bottles that have caps. They are cheap and perfect for storing e-juice in a secluded area.

Gloves

Various chemical ingredients used to make vape juice can be harmful. For example, nicotine can cause skin rashes if touched. That’s why you need rubber gloves during the whole process.

Face Protection

You can either get some goggles or a face shield to protect your face during the procedure. For example, it’s easy to splash one’s face when the ingredients are mixed. If nicotine touches the eye, it could damage it.

Wiping Paper

All the spills need to be wiped as quickly as possible. No matter how careful you are, things will spill.

Syringes

All the ingredients need to be measured accurately, so you should dose them with separate syringes. It will also allow one to put the ingredients where one wants and even in tiny doses.

Ingredients You Need For Your E-Liquid

VG or Vegetable Glycerin

VG affects the general flavour of the e-liquid. It’s completely organic, thick, and comes from vegetables. It’s also used for making cosmetics, foods, and even drugs.

PG or Propylene Glycol

This ingredient is less thick than VG, and it’s the second base ingredient. It is colourless and odourless and is used for preparing foods and tobacco.

Distilled Water or Some Alcohol

This ingredient is not always necessary, but it can help thin out the VG. If you aren’t using nicotine in the mixture, you can add vodka to thin it out and give you that hit.

Nicotine

Look for diluted nicotine and make sure to check its strength. Get one that is 8 to 24 mg strong and look for that sweet spot.

Preparing Vape Juice

Once you have decided to gosmokefree and give vaping a try, there are five general steps you should follow when preparing vape juice at home.

Setting up The Right Amount of Nicotine

You need to calculate how much nicotine is needed to avoid having too much of it. Since nicotine is diluted, you need to consider its number of milligrams and the overall volume of vape juice you need.

Of course, you don’t have to add nicotine if you don’t want to. If you want little nicotine, add a bit of vodka to get that stronger hit.

Flavour

It’s very important to do this step right, or you won’t like the taste of your vape juice. You can use a single flavour or mix several different ones. We suggest you use one or two as a beginner. You can use less than 10% of a single flavour batch on your e-liquid.

Creating a Base

Depending on the recipe, your VG/PG mix can be with an 80:20 or 50:50 ratio. Start with even distribution and test out different options. Bear in mind that both of these base ingredients can be found in diluted nicotine. It’s something worth considering when determining the amount of base you need.

Mixing All the Ingredients

Once you’ve measured all the ingredients, mix them in some container or a bottle. Make sure to mix the blend thoroughly and for a couple of minutes because VG takes time to mix with other ingredients.

Steep the Liquid

Steeping the liquid isn’t mandatory, but if you want the juice to have a better taste, make sure to do it. You can try the vape after you’ve finished, and if it’s too strong or harsh, use steeping. It involves putting your bottle somewhere in the dark with an open lid to let the air “suck out” volatile fluids. The quicker method is to submerge the bottle in some warm water.

Bottom Line

Once you’ve found the formula you like, try it out – it only takes a couple of minutes to finish the whole thing. Once you become good at it, you will even be able to come up with your unique flavours. Go smoke-free in a safe way and enjoy vaping!
