There are many reasons why you’d want a small portable vaporizer. For me, it is mostly to be able to vaporize discretely when I am away from home.

I have tried many discrete vapes, such as the PUFFiT vaporizers, however, those are really only the best if you need a lot of discretion (i.e: crowded public events, concerts, etc.), which for me personally is not the top priority. I do want to stay discreet, however, I can achieve that with a small vaporizer that fits easily into my pocket.

First Impression of the CloudV Phantom Mini Portable Herbal Vaporizer

When I first saw the CloudV Mini, I have to admit I had doubts if such a small device can do the job. You may be wondering about the same thing, so I decided to create a short post specifically about the CloudV Mini vaporizer.

I have published a user review about the CloudV Phantom range, including the Mini, that you can check out here, however, this post is specifically about the CloudV Phantom Mini with the purpose of sharing more insights about this little portable vape.

The Mini is only 13.5cm (less than 5.5 inches) high and looks really small even beside the Phantom Premium, another CloudV vape pen.

Despite the small size, it still houses a reasonable size chamber.

It weighs only 55 grams, so it is really light to carry around.

How to Use the CloudV Phantom Mini Portable Vape

The next best thing (after its size) is its ease of use.

It has only one button and one preset temperature at between 410 and 420 Fahrenheit (210 – 215 Celsius). The mouthpiece comes off with a small turn counterclockwise.

Use finely ground herbs with the Mini for best vapor production. After you loaded your herbs into the chamber, all you have to do is press the button on the front 3 times in a row to turn the vaporizer on.
The button turns red while it is heating up. It takes about a minute or so to heat up and the light turns to blue to indicate that it’s ready to go.

One session goes for 4 minutes when the auto shut off kicks in and turns the vaporizer off. To turn it back on, simply press the button 3 times in a row again and off you go for another session.

Vapor Quality of the CloudV Phantom Mini Herbal Vaporizer

The vapor quality is surprisingly good. I say ‘surprising’, as I did not have high expectations for such a small and light vaporizer.

It is easy to draw on the pointy mouthpiece and even though the vapor is a little hot, it is very good and enjoyable quality. With good quality botanicals, you can produce decent size clouds with this tiny little device.
What’s more, even this little vaporizer can be fitted with a water bubbler. If you like to filter your vapor through a water bubbler, then you can get an additional bubbler and even cleaner and better vapor.

You can also replace the mouthpiece with a glass globe mouthpiece, to create a stainless steel – glass vapor path.

With its simplicity and ease of use, it is perfect for newbies as their very first device to begin their vaping journey with. While at the same time it can also satisfy any seasoned vapers as an on the go vape, topping up the vaping experience with the glass extras that it can be fitted with.

Battery Life of the CloudV Phantom Mini Vaporizer

The battery lasts for about 5 to 6 sessions. If you consider the size and weight of the Mini, that is not a bad effort. It charges with a supplied USB cable in about an hour or so.

I usually put mine on the charger after a few sessions to make sure I don’t run out of battery. This vaporizer doesn’t have a pass-through charging function, so best is to make sure you charge it regularly.

Conclusion

I have been blown away by how well such a small vaporizer functions and have used my Mini a lot more often than I thought I would.

I have recently reviewed the new CloudV vaporizer the F17, that is also very small, however, after considering everything, I’d chose the Mini over the F17 at this point.

The main reason would be that the mouthpiece on the Mini does not get hot even after extended use, while the F17’s mouthpiece gets really hot for me.
Also as an added benefit, you can fit a water bubbler on the Mini, making the vapor even cooler and cleaner.

Overall, the CloudV Phantom Mini is an excellent little portable vape that does the job very well and does not break the bank.
