5 Steps for Cleaning Your Vape Supplies

Keeping your vape supplies clean and well-maintained is going to have a huge impact on your experience and the longevity of your equipment.

Proper cleaning and maintenance will also help you avoid inhaling harmful bacteria that you want to keep out of your system.

Start With the Mouthpiece

When it comes to unwanted germs on your vape accessories, the mouthpiece could be one of the worst offenders. Even if you aren’t passing the device to multiple people, the germs that are in your mouth could cause some serious problems down the line.

A basic mouthpiece can usually be cleaned with nothing more than some warm water and a pipe cleaner or cotton swab.

Soaking the Tank

For the tank, there are a few different cleaning methods to choose from. Some manufacturers suggest that you run the tank under warm water after every few uses.

Others claim that the best cleaning method is to soak the tank in propylene glycol or another similar type of liquid that has anti-bacterial properties.

O-Rings

If your vaping device has any O-rings, then those will regularly need to be removed and inspected. Over time, the O-rings can become damaged, and that could result in the e-liquid spilling out.

The O-rings should be inspected whenever you take the tank off to clean it. Luckily, O-rings are fairly inexpensive, and replacing them should only take you a few seconds.

Next time when you visit your local vape store or your favourite online vape shop it might be a good idea to pick up some spare o-rings and screens to have them handy by the time you need them.

Don’t Forget the Drain Cover

Before you rinse or soak any of the parts in the sink, you should always use a drain cover. No one wants to call the plumber for an emergency visit because their vape accessories slipped out of their hands and got into their pipes.

Let the Parts Fully Dry

While it might be tempting to use the vape device right away, you need to make sure that you give the parts plenty of time to fully dry off.

Vaping with wet parts could result in major damage to some of the key parts of the device. If you soaked any of the parts in water, then they might need an hour to fully dry.

These few steps are going to be a great start, but you must carefully read your user manual as well. Your vape pen or mod might require very specific maintenance, and you want to be absolutely sure that you aren’t going to damage any of the parts
