How to Vape Hash with Your Vaporizer: Vaping Hash 101

Ah…the age-old question. Will I ruin my $200+ herb vape by putting sticky, resinous hashish inside of it? The answer is not always a simple one.

Can I Vaporize Hash?

The short answer is yes, you can and it is a better way of consuming hash than smoking it.

Funnily enough, there are very few vaporizers that have been specifically designed with the intention of vaping hash, meaning that hashish enthusiasts, or hashishologists, have had to resort to less than savory methods, such as spliffs and water pipes.

Obviously, hashish, being a concentrate, is going to be a lot richer in cannabinoids means that vaping hash is going to give you a much more intense high than regular herb.

vaping hash

While consuming your hash through a glass bowl with a piece of hemp wick (like pictured above) is far healthier than a tobacco spliff, it still takes away from the flavor of your cannabis resin and can leave a bad taste in your mouth and smell in the room.

Above are three different varieties of hash; dry sift (or kief/kiff), butane hash oil (bho), and block hash, the most common variety throughout Europe and South East Asia.

When using a vaporizer to expertly vaporize your hashish you’re getting the full flavor and effect, which are both marvelous. So all kind of hashish can be vaporized, let’s move onto what vaporizers are best for hash.

What Vaporizers to Use to Vape Hashish?

If you already have a vaporizer that can heat up to 210 Celsius (410 Farenheight) or above, you most likely can use it to vape your hashish. You don’t need to rush out and buy any special vaporizers. If you have access to ground cannabis flower, wrap your hash around some ground cannabis as you load your chamber. Simply add a little flower to the bottom of the chamber, add your hashish, and then a bit more flower to the top and you are good to go.

This way the hashish doesn’t directly touch the walls of your baking chamber. As a result, it won’t stain it and also stops melted waxy substances from your hashish bribing into your air intake or even heating element.

If you don’t have access to dried cannabis flowers to sandwich your hashish, you can use a liquid pad if your vaporizer comes with one. Alternatively organic cotton or hemp fiber also does the job. The purpose is to keep the hash away from the walls of the heating chamber.

So there you go, you can actually use your existing vaporizer to vape your hash!

Buying a new vaporizer for hash?

In case you don’t have a vaporizer yet and looking to buy one that vaporizes hash like a boss, let me walk you through a few vapes that you could consider.

#3 Arizer Solo Portable Herb Vape

Arizer Solo for vaping hashish

Another old favorite that’s great for vaping hash is the classic Arizer Solo portable vaporizer from Canadian manufacturer Arizer Tech. Both the original Solo and the Solo II are good, although the Solo II heats up to 220 Celsius (428 Fahrenheit). That is 10 degrees celsius higher than the OG Solo. As a result, the Solo II a little more suitable for vaping hash.

Now, as this vaporizer utilizes a unique form of vaporization known as obscurant vaping, you must sandwich your hash up as explained above, otherwise it will likely drip into the chamber, leaving it stained.

The Arizer Solo is suitable for use with dry sift or crumbled up hashish when mixed in with ground cannabis. If you’ve ever wanted to supercharge your vape’s chamber before, grab an Arizer Solo and get hash vaping today!

#2 VapMan

VapMan Manual Vaporizer

Manual butane gas heated vaporizers are very well suited to vaporize hashish. You are in control of the temperature, so you are not limited to a set temperature. Also, manual vaporizers don’t have heating elements, so you don’t have to worry about anything dripping on them.

The VapMan is a manually heated herbal vaporizer that has been around for over a decade. It is made in Switzerland to very high standards. It has a small heating chamber that is perfect for vaping hash.

#1 – DynaVap M

DynaVap M 2020

DynaVap vaporizers are widely popular these days and for a good reason. They produce great quality vapor and very versatile in use. They are heated manually with a butane torch and just like the VapMan, you are in control of the temperature.

The DynaVap Model M is the most affordable DynaVap and it is just as good for vaping hashish as any of the more expensive models. The M 2020 is designed with the adjust-a-bowl function. So you can make the herb chamber very small and perfect for hash.

These 3 vaporizers are the most used for hash among members of our VapeFuse Community, however, they are surely not the only ones that can be used for vaporizing hashish.

A Quick Note on Pressing Dry Sift

Just as you can vape hash, you can also vaporize kief. One of the first things you should invest in when you start using cannabis is a decent quality herb grinder. My go-to is the GrindeROO Premium 4-Piece Herb Grinder due to it having a much wider micron screen for excess resin production.

If you’re looking to supercharge your joint, chamber, or bowl after a while collect the resin glands from the bottom of your grinder for pressing. They are also referred to as kief, dusties etc.

Pressing kief

Using a resin press like the one in the previous image to squish your dry sift together is an easy little way to make some DIY hash and get started with hash vaping.

The little golden hash puck pictured below came from resin from Critical Haze and WiFi OG plants. Making for a super potent and perfumy Indica dry sift hash.

For all of you hash enthusiasts out there that have made the switch to vaping, I commend you on your efforts and reward you with this post! You don’t know how often people ask me this somewhat simple question.

Remember to always consult your vaporizers manual before using it to consume hash. And if you’re still stumped on whether you can use your vape for concentrates drop me a comment below and I should be able to help you out!

  1. I am 65 with COPD I have been doing hash and pot since age 12 (with a very fun and crazy miss spent youth,
3.5 yrs purchasing and shipping from a very hot island) Always had a good relationship with Temple ball
To save $$ I have always done hot knives with the addition of joints and my favorite a paper and tobacco free hash joint. What a BUZZ. Best when u use 2gr or more T B
Anyway age COPD plus all the rest, knives are starting to hurt, can I start to alleviate this with a vaporizer like the Volcano??

    • Hello there, thank you for your comment. A vape like a Volcano must be much better than hot knives and joints. Smoke causes inflammation in your lungs, while vapor should not. I say shouldn’t as some low quality vaporizers can actually introduce toxins to the vapor and cause inflammation and other problems in the lungs and elsewhere. So using something like a Volcano is highly recommended but even then, vaping may not be the best option for everyone with COPD either. I guess it is always best to see a doctor and get advice if possible, although I know it is not always easy to find someone with the required knowledge and experience. All the best.

  2. Hi,
I’m French in France…. I just bought a mighty + last month. At first it was a hassle, because I used it without knowing what I had to do. The seller was going to fast… My bf was with me and now hates her mighty+ and I’m using it! And since I’ve been spending a lot of money! I had to stop smoking cigarettes for medical reasons. 40 years to get rid of nicotine and gestures. I have now a vape and smoke cbd with salted caramel No nicotine since my last operation in February. To make it short! I wanted a Dynavap since I started looking all over the net and with the mighty? I still want a Dynavap! Now, I have one question. I have ABV but I would like to save it for edibles… Question is: where can I buy cbd to smoke with my hash? Weed cbd. I can’t seem to find some and which one? Damania? There is so much, and not all can be smoked.
    Thank you in advance!
Sending you guys some French good vibes!

  3. Can I vape hash in my herbva 5G, I’ve noticed that the bottom of the chamber has holes and the instructions say not to put liquids oils or wax inside or it will stop working.
I know that hash goes soft when heated and will release oils.
I’m thinking about putting a tint piece of foil at the bottom to prevent anything running into the element.
Would this work because I specifically bought this to vape hash and don’t want to destroy it on day one.

    Thanks in advance.
