Arizer Extreme Q vs V-Tower – Which Arizer Desktop Vaporizer is for You?

Arizer has made 2 Desktop Vaporizers so far, the Extreme Q and the V-Tower. In this post we compare the two so you can decide which one might be the best for you.

Arizer has been making these 2 desktop vapes for over a decade and both of them are still very popular.

Both of these products are assembled in Canada and despite their lightweight, they feature outstanding built quality.

They look almost identical for the first glance and it would be easy to mix them up if they weren’t different colors.

The V-Tower has a chrome finish while the Extreme Q comes with a lot darker midnight chrome finish.

The biggest difference between the two is that the V-Tower is a whip only vaporizer, while the Extreme Q is a dual vape, not only offering whip style vaping but a balloon collection method as well.

The Extreme Q model comes with a built-in fan, while the V-Tower doesn’t have one.

Having a fan in the Extreme Q means that you can connect an all-glass elbow to the Cyclone Bowl and collect vapor into a bag.

The fan in the Extreme Q can also be used for assisting your draw while you are using the whip, so you don’t have to manually draw air through the chamber.

The Extreme Q’s fan can be adjusted between three separate speed settings. The control panel area is slightly different as the Extreme Q has a LED light to indicate when the fan is on.

Both of these vaporizers use the same Cyclone Bowl as a glass chamber (or optional Tuff Bowl with the silicon cover), however, the V-Tower can only be used for whip style vaping.

Arizer Extreme Q vs V-Tower Back-View

They look exactly the same from the back and work with the same power cable as well, and not surprisingly, the packaging is just about the same for these two products.

The original Arizer style plain cardboard packaging is still in use by Arizer for these two desktop vapes at the time of writing this post.

Arizer Extreme Q vs V-Tower Boxes

Both of these vaporizers are extremely reliable, very well made and produce exceptionally good quality vapor.

The Extreme Q is a lot more popular than the V-Tower as for a little extra in the price, you get the balloon function as well as being able to use the assisted draw.

Even if you prefer vaping with a whip, it is still handy to have the fan and the option to use the balloon function if you ever want to.

I have been vaporizing herbs for many years and working for VapeFuse in Australia and Europe. I try every vaporizer and fortunate enough to have this as part of my job. I feel like I am living the dream. I love to hear from other vapers, so always feel free to comment on my posts. Keep on vaping.

  1. I’m not sure what year model V you reviewed but the one I purchased sometime around 2008 has the silver cone body with a black smooth (no ridges){plastic?} rim. My unit does have the fan as well as the bag adapter.
Other than the upgraded glasswork, silicone tubing, and a darker finish, the Arizer extreme Q is just lipstick on an existing yet reliable product from 2008 while downgrading the original.
I am quite happy with my tower (with the fan) as it still serves me well today.
I must however declare BS on the “New Model Q”.

    • Hello Methias,
Thank you for the comment, and for sharing. I didn’t know that the older V-Towers used to have a fan and bag adapter. The one we reviewed would be much younger than yours. I am not sure of the exact year of manufacture, but would be after 2014. As you can see on the pictures, it has the plastic rim with the ridges. I guess after the Extreme Q came out, the V-Tower was downgraded to the basic Arizer desktop with no fan.
