The Ald Amaze WOW portable vaporizer is a very well designed vaporizer that delivers high performance and reliability at an affordable price.

There is so much to tell you about this portable vape, so let me get into it.

Digital Display

The WOW has a fully adjustable digital temperature control and it displays the set and actual temperatures in both Celsius and Fahrenheit degrees. It has a 0.96 inch OLED display, which is more than enough for a device this small (123.7mm high x 35mm wide and 23mm deep).

The list of cool things that I like about the WOW starts at the digital display.

The display shows the number of ‘puffs’, or in other words, the number of times that the unit was used. I find this very handy as it helps to track your personal use, being able to track how many times you used the device in a day or week or month.

It seems to count a session as a puff when the chamber temperature goes above 90 Celsius.

Another very handy thing I find after using the device is that the digital display also has a function to show a timer for the session. One session lasts 6 minutes and being able to see the actual timer on the display is great because you always know where you are up to in your vaporizing session.

Apart from the above helpful information, it also displays the battery level indicator, a “Running” indicator while the unit is on, and “Setting” while you are setting the temperature.

How It Works

The WOW is super easy to operate, it has only 3 buttons. The middle larger button is to turn the device on and off. You need to press that button 5 times (within 2 seconds) to switch the device on and off. Once you have it turned on, you can set your desired temperature using the smaller buttons with the + and – signs.

If you press the middle big button twice quickly while heating up, it will pause heating for you and display “Standby” until you press the button twice quickly again to resume operations.

The device has a massive temperature range as it can be used between 100 and 260 Celsius depending on what herbs you vaporize.  

This huge temperature range enables you to use it with pretty much every suitable herb depending on your preference.

The vaporizer is rather quick to heat up, reaching the set temperature in less than a minute.

Dosing Capsules

The WOW was one of the first devices to hit the market with dosing capsules. They are pretty popular now, however, the capsules for the WOW are quite unique.

They are made out of aluminium alloy and come with an easy to screw on/off cap at both ends.

I could not be recommending dosing capsules highly enough, as I do think they are fantastic for many reasons.

The chamber of a portable vaporizer deteriorates significantly quicker than with using it with the dosing capsules for obvious reasons.

When you use dosing capsules, the herbal materials are not in direct contact with the wall of your chamber, but the wall of the dosing capsule, protecting your heating chamber.

It also enables you to preload the dosing capsules and use them on the go as you need them.

I really like this feature of the WOW and how the manufacturer designed them.

So far they are the best dosing capsules I have seen.

Battery

The WOW is powered by an inbuilt Polymer lithium battery and it is still performing very well after extensive use. The battery lasted for 7 sessions on its first charge and it still lasts 7 sessions after 350 puffs.

The battery seems to hold the charge same as new after using it for several months and as surprising as it is, it seems to hold up better than the Crafty or the Mighty battery based on my personal experience.

The charging cable pops on to the vaporizer with a magnetic charger (a bit like the Mac computers), so you don’t have to spend time trying to squeeze the plug into the device.

The battery charges from empty to full in about 60 to 70 minutes and once it is charged, it turns off the charging function, saving it from overcharging. Maybe this is why the battery is holding the charge so well.

The WOW comes with a USB charging cable, so it conveniently plugs into any USB outlet including your computer.

Vapor Quality

The vapor quality of the WOW is good, very similar to other devices in its class, such as the CloudV vape pens. The dual housing of the mouthpiece helps to cool the vapor down, so it is not too hot when it gets into your system.

At the same time, the design made some areas in the mouthpiece unreachable for cleaning. If you take a good care of your device and don’t let residue to build up in those areas, then it should not affect your vapor quality. All in all, the WOW produces good quality vapor, what you’d expect from a well built portable vaporizer.

Cleaning

One thing that every vaporizer needs is a good clean every now and then to function well on the long term.

I love when a vaporizer is easy to clean and this is pretty good on that front.

All you really have to clean is the mouthpiece, as the rest of the unit stays pretty clean due to the utilisation of the dosing capsules.

The mouthpiece is modular and easy to pull apart. The metal pieces are super easy to clean, however, the plastic mouthpiece itself seems to be a double walled kind of solution. This specific bit is the tricky part, it takes a bit more time and lots of hot water to clean, however overall still pretty easy and quick.

Who is the WOW Vape for?

The WOW Portable Vaporzier is for anyone that needs a reliable and sturdy portable vaporizer. With the pre-loadable dosing capsules and solid design, it is perfect for vapers, who like to keep it active, spend time outdoors or work on the tools.

The battery lasts for 6 sessions, and with the USB charger you can recharge it in your car on the go. Its simple but nice style makes the WOW vaporizer a great choice for many circumstances.

Summary

In my opinion, this is a super cool portable vaporizer and great value for money. The device is well designed and built.

The only downside that I can mention is the plastic mouthpiece that is a bit tricky to clean, however, it is still not that difficult.
