The first half of 2018 has brought some amazing portables to the VapeFuse store! Two of my absolute favorite portables at the moment are the X Vape FOG and the Flowermate Swift Pro portable vaporizers.
These devices are simply remarkable in their own right. After over 20 years of portable vaporizers being on the market, I’ve seldom come across a chamber so intricate, a heat-up time so extremely fast!

VapeFuse Review: X Vape FOG vs. Flowermate Swift Pro
While both portables are pretty reminiscent of the Storz & Bickel Crafty, the functionality is quite different entirely.
The only real discernible similarity between the three stems from the flip-away mouthpiece and removable cooling unit.
The Crafty operates via Bluetooth, whereas the Flowermate has an embedded OLED display, and the FOG utilizes an analog method like that of the Arizer Solo.
It’s evident that a lot of work has gone into the packaging of these portables, both looking more like smartphones than herbal vaporizers!
The X Vape FOG is the latest offering from TopGreen Tech, creators of the X Max and X Vape range. This device is similar to TopGreen’s entry-level portable, the X Max Starry, with a few noticeable performance upgrades.
Flowermate, of course, has been dominating the portable category for over half a decade. The Flowermate Swift Pro was the first of their premium portables to steer away from the boxy look.
The Swift Pro’s immaculately smooth exterior feels great in the hand, and the device is surprisingly lightweight, making it the ideal portable for a vaper that loves to get outdoors!
With the FOG, you’re looking at a much weightier portable, with this largely owing to the removable 3500mAh battery located underneath a hatch at the bottom.
The X Vape FOG’s battery is twice that of the Flowermate Swift Pro, but the Swift Pro utilizes full-spectrum temperature control and utilizes a more intricate method of generating vapor, so there is always going to be trade-offs.
Flipping open the FOG’s mouthpiece reveals the embedded chamber and removable three-piece filter. This filter consists of a silicon plug screen, a stainless steel screen, and a two-way air filter.
It can become quite resin-stained so it’s super important that this filter is regularly maintained. The Swift Pro’s cooling unit is fully detachable and comes apart into six (6) separate pieces for an easy clean.
As mentioned earlier, the Flowermate Swift Pro utilizes full-spectrum temperature control, with the temp ranging from 60°C (140° F) – 230° C (446° F).
The X Vape FOG has 5 optimized temperature settings ranging from 180°C (356°F) to 220°C (428°F), the perfect range for vaping dry herbs.
Unheard of in the portable vaporizer market, the X Vape FOG’s phenomenal five-second heat up time is something to marvel at. By the time you’ve set your temp and flipped the mouthpiece around it’s basically ready to go!
Looking at the chamber, the FOG has a super-clean stainless steel chamber that can fit up to 0.3 g of dried herb. This chamber, coupled with the zirconia mouthpiece, makes for really high-quality vapor!
The Swift Pro has a remarkably similar chamber to that of the Storz & Bickel Crafty. The device utilizes an embedded ceramic element, stainless steel screen and removable chamber wall to heat the herb in unison.
With four (4) interchangeable chamber walls, the Flowermate Swift Pro really is one step ahead of the crowd. These chambers, constructed from borosilicate glass, bamboo, South American Palisander and African Palisander, generate some remarkable vapor.
Depending on your vaping preference, simply remove the interior chamber with the tool included in the kit, select your chamber wall and get vaping!
Each alternate chamber wall offers a subtle difference in flavor, with the glass ring leaving the herb untainted, and each of the wooden rings providing a slightly different taste.
While the X Vape FOG only has the one chamber, it does come equipped with hybrid vaping capabilities. With the included stainless steel liquid pad you can vape all of oyur favorite concentrates too!
These liquid pads sit inside the chamber and are awesome at generating some super-terpy low temp dabs! A good rule of thumb is to put your vape onto its highest temp first so as to get the most out of your mix!
With the X Vape FOG’s optional 14mm waterpipe attachment you can enjoy your vapor through your favorite glass piece!
In all fairness though, this water pipe adapter also works with the Swift Pro and Storz & Bickel Crafty and is an awesome way to cool down your vapor.
