If you’re a veteran herb vaper, you’re sure to have come across the Storz & Bickel Volcano Digit at some point in your life. The device is to herb vaporization what the Rolls Royce was to automobiles, and it stands alone as the only medically patented desktop vape on the market.
This is the most documented of all vaporizers and has been depicted in a number of TV programs including Doug Benson’s Super High Me, and Netflix’s Disjointed.
The Volc is totally customizable, with a full-spectrum temperature control and your choice of valve system to pack your herbs and fill your balloons.
I first used a Volcano at a Coffeeshop in Amsterdam back in 2014 and found the experience to be like nothing I’d experienced before. The flavor that came out of that balloon tasted exactly like my little baggie smelt, and the effect was a lot more mellow and relaxing than I was used to with smoking.
The Volcano exhibits a different kind of high, the only thing I can really relate it to is an edible kind of buzz; only without the long waiting time and, generally, earthy taste. This is the device that got me into vaping, and it helped me to establish what a premium quality vaporizer is supposed to function like.
This device is about the size of a football (soccer ball) and weighs over a kilo. It’s definitely more of an at-home model, but the brand has also come out with some amazing portables that are worth checking out too.
The Digit is basically the upgraded model of the Volcano Classic Desktop Vaporizer, which was released in the late 90’s to critical acclaim. The update brought a new digital interface as well as full-spectrum temperature control, giving the user the ability to perfectly craft their ideal vapor experience.
The release of the updated model also included the release of updated vaporization systems, namely the Easy-Valve and subsequent New Easy-Valve systems. The difference between these Valve systems is explained in detail in the breakdown video below.
