The Atman Starlight is a herbal and wax capable vaporizer that we have been testing out for the last few weeks.
The Starlight is a very different vaporizer to the other Atman product, the Pretty Plus that we’ve reviewed recently here on the VapeFuse Blog.
The Atman Starlight is a box style vape with a heavy metal frame. It is best suited for at home vaporizing, however, more on that later.
First, let’s have a look at what’s in the box.
The device comes in a nice and well-designed box, many of the main features are listed on the front of the box.
In the box you’ll find the below list of goodies:

The Design of the Atman Starlight Portable Vaporizer
The Starlight is a mod style vape with a nice and heavy feel to it.
The oven is covered by a magnetic screen and then with a magnetic plastic see-through mouthpiece.
The vaporizer has a single triangle-shaped multi-function button on the front. Below that, you have the 4 temperature settings LED’s and the micro USB charging port.
How to Use the Atman Starlight Portable Vaporizer
First up let’s go through how to use it for dry herbs.
As a first step, fill your chamber with ground herbs. The owner’s manual tends to suggest that you should load your herbs into the supplied basket.
However, we found that it produces more vapor without the metal basket and have used it mostly without it for dry herbs.
Pack your chamber lightly, about 2/3 full.
Once you got your herbs loaded, you are ready to turn the Starlight on.
It powers on and off with 5 clicks using the button at the front.
As you turn the vape on, the LED flashes at the heat setting that the device was used on last time.
To change temperatures, you need to click the button 3 times in a sequence. When toggling between temperature settings, wait a few seconds between temperature levels. As if you are pressing the button 3 times a couple times too close to each other, that will add up to 5 clicks and turns the device off.
Temperatures:
- 320°F – 160°C
- 380°F – 194°C
- 410°F – 210°C
- 500°F – 260°C
The first two levels are for dry herbs and the top two are for concentrates.
Once you set your temperature, press and hold the button for a few seconds until the LED around the button turns red to indicate that the device is heating up. I had good experience starting on the first temperature level at 160°C and increase it up to the second level after a session.
The Starlight heats up very quickly, in about 2 – 4 seconds to the lowest temperature setting and only about 12 or so seconds to the highest setting.
Once the set temperature is reached, the LED light turns green.
At this point, you can start dawing and enjoying your vapor. We found the Starlight producing small clouds, but very pure and tasteful vapor.
A session goes for 5 minutes and the Starlight auto-shuts off after that time. By the end of the 5 minutes session, the unit gets quite hot.
You can simply press the button 5 times again to turn it back on for another session. The large battery that powers the unit lasts quite a few sessions on one charge.
The ceramic chamber bakes the herbs evenly and does not darken your herbs too much. No hot spots at all that we found.
Using the Starlight with Concentrates
For waxes, you definitely have to use the provided metal carts. The user manual says to fill up to 2/3, however, that seemed like a lot of material, so we added just a rice grain size every time.
With wax, we had the best result when jumped up to the top 500°F temperature setting from the start and managed to get some nice and flavoursome vapor that way.
Conclusion
The Atman Starlight is a cool box style vaporizer that bakes your herbs evenly and produces clean tasting vapor. It can vaporize waxes effectively too.
It does not produce massive clouds, but it seems to be doing a great and gentle job with your herbs.
It may not be as portable as some other vapes we reviewed, however it surely gets the job done.
